Nova Scotia Green Machine

A fantastic pattern for summer Atlantic Salmon. This fly is designed to be swung, it pushes some water with its deer hair body and bushy brown hackle, and often gets the fishes attention. The white tail helps you track this fly across the pool, so its easier to see when the salmon intercepts it.

Especially deadly for fresh fish, this pattern works well in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

Hitch this fly or swing it straight up, this is a must have pattern in your box.

Pattern materials

  • Hook: Heavy Wet Hook
  • Thread: 6/0 Black Uni
  • Tail: White Calftail
  • Butt: Fluro. Green or Chartreuse ultra chenille.
  • Body: Green machine deer hair, trimmed shorter near the head, tapering up in the large chenille butt.
  • Hackle: Brown saddle hackle, reinforced with tying thread for durability.
