Black Bear Green Butt

A lethal fly on darker days for Atlantic Salmon. This is a must have fly in your box. Popular in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and proven effective in Labrador for many years. Use in larger sizes early season, and scale down sizes as the water drops.

Pattern materials

  • Thread: Uni thread black 6/0 or 8/0
  • Hook: Salmon iron, black up-eye
  • Tag: Uni mylar silver
  • Butt: Uni Stretch Chartreuse or fluroescent green floss.
  • Rib: Silver tinsel
  • Body: Black floss or wool.
  • Throat/collar: Black hen neck or saddle.
  • Wing: Black Bear
